Help!!! I need help with my new Verizon iPhone!!!!!?

I just got the new Verizon iPhone. Im really happy with it but when you lose coverage, isnt the verizon logo suppose to be replaced with "NO SERVICE"?? Cause it is replaced with Searching... And it just stays that way! It never says no NO SERVICE. Its not that big of deal but im just an iphonw freak. Please help!
