Can you help me? I've decided I want to be mechanic/technician but I do not know which type. I was thinking about auto mechanic, or motorcycle mechanic but right now, I don't think I want to go through the schooling. Here's why:

I graduated from Boston University with a Mechanical Engineering degree. I was a mechanical engineer for 3 years, but I left for 2 reasons:
1) I did not like sitting in front of the computer all day.
2) I do not have creative ability for designing machines. I draw a blank when trying to come up with mechanisms and new designs.

I've already been through this with 2 career counselors, so please don't try convince me to go back to engineering sitting in front of the computer all day.

I want to work with my hands all day (or at least most of the day). So I'm looking for a technician/mechanic job. But I know there's tons of them out there in all different types of fields. What are the different fields out there for "mechanically" oriented people? Obviously, I'm not talking about computer technician, lab technician, radiology technician.

For example, auto mechanic, HVAC technician, ---basically some type of "mechanical" technician. One guy I was talking to the other day was talking about his company does bakery equipment installations (ovens, etc). So his technicians have to know sheetmetal fabrication, hydraulics, gas lines, a little of everything.

And I do not want to go back to school because I already went to school for mech. engineering. So I do not think auto repair would suit me right now because I would have to go to school.

Suggestions, Recommendations? What fields/industries out there?

-Thank You
