I need to answer these questions about "The Man without a Country" with as much detail as possible. I tried to look up the story, but I couldn't find a could copy of it.

1. For 56 years, Nolan was marshaled outside U.S. boundaries. Was his sentence fair? (I think not, but I don't have the facts to back it up...)

2. In what way is patriotism a theme in the story?

3. How has Philip Nolan changed throughout the story?

4. Based on his life as a young man, why is Nolan's confinement a "slow death"?
