Help, I can't upload photos from Sony DSC T10?

I have a new Dell XPS laptop with Vista (boo!). For some reason the computer recognises the device as a removable drive but does not recognise any photos on there...theres a few hundred at least, and it works fine with a friends apple....any ideas?
