When I went through my divorce it was stated in divorce papers that my ex husband needs to transfer the title to our car in my name. We divorced 3 yrs ago and I CANNOT get it from him. He says he has lost the title and when he went to reapply for the title, the State of Alabama told him that he must have something from the bank showing proof. He says he keeps getting the run around from the bank and they barely will return his calls!! PLEASE DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO GET MY TITLE???

Justin..thank you as well..but right you are..My ex says when he went down to apply for a lost title from the State they told him he must get a letter from the bank. He says he asked them how do they not have a record of it? I should have already insisted or got an attorney involved but I have never really worried to much about it. I am a pretty laid back and trusting person so I just assumed when I needed it, he would just have it. I had NO idea, he would lose the title!! It is an older car..but is in great condition..2000 4 door Honda Accord EX. What I am starting to get worried about is...What if something happens to it and I need to trade it in or sale it? I still find it hard to believe he LOST the title seeing how he is a Comptroller of a HUGE law firm! Hence the issue here! I am going to contact an attorney Monday, so wish me luck. Thanks again!
