Help - High fever, hip pain in both hips

My son is 25 yrs old, and has been suffering from high fever 101 to 102 for 4 days and has terrible pain in both hips. Went to GP yesterday and he is thinking possible swine flu. Any thoughts or ideas.... he is miserable.
