For the past two months I've had sharp severe pain right between my right shoulder blade and one of my roRAB from a spinal fusion that I had three years ago. It occurs whenever I try to reach upward or pick something up. It especially hurts when I tilt my head to the right or bend over to get something. Does anyone know what might have happened? It feels as if there is a knot and then as soon as it came I can physically feel my back "let go" and it is incredibly painful.

However, recently now it is just an aching feeling. I am more than positive it is not just a muscle spasm because it is chronic and it feels more like a pinch. Do I have an aggravated nerve or something wrong with my hardware possibly?

I am schedule to see my orthopedic surgeon on August 1st.

Best wishes everyone, god bless.

It could be anything from a simple flare to a problem with the next level up. Unfortunately to get an answer, you are going to have to see your doctor and let him evaluate you and more than likely order further testing such as a MRI/CT scan.

Are you taking anything for pain? You might try heat, cold, soaking in a spa, using bengay/icy hot for some releif until you can get in to see him.

Good luck and we will pray that this is nothing more than a flare.
