Hello everyone.

I'm a male, 22 years old, with no history of stomach ulcers or anything like that etc.

For the last 8-10 months or so I have had some really bad stomach issues.

It 1st started with a general loss of appetite. I was still able to eat for the 1st few months into the disorder, but over the past few months, the conditioned has worsened to the point that I have TOTALLY lost my appetite, feel persistend nausea in the morning and throughout the day, and actually throw up or come close to it if I eat any food. I usually have discomfort after eating.

When I wake up, my stomach just feels so unsettled, when I am lying down, but less so when I sit down. It has been waking me up in the middle of the night and very very early in the morning for a long time now.

The doctors have not been able to help me with this problem. I have tried breath tests, blood tests (one too many), and they just feel my stomach and give me expensive prescriptions for the same drugs - anti-acid drugs, which I am frankly sick of buying. They also conducted a breath test.

My main question is: What is it about an endoscopy that a blood test cannot detect? Do you think that this is my best option now?

I would like to request an endoscopy at the next trip to the doctors. I believe it is very necessary to find out just what is causing this - it could be a lesion (forgive me if the terminology is wrong) or SOMETHING that is persistently causing all this irritation and nausea that blood rests cannot detect?

I just don't know what to do anymore, as this is unbearable. I am literally having to struggle against myself to get food down my stomach so that I do not lose weight.

Any other suggestions will be very welcome. Thankyou guys.

Endoscopy will actually look into esophagus and stomach for abnormalities.
You'll need this in order to proceed with treatment.

I think an endoscopy is a good option, particularly if the first round of treatment did not bring you relief. You may have reflux or an ulcer (lesion as you say) or a nuraber of other problems, like gallbladder, etc.

Ask your doctor to refer you to a GI specialist for an edoscopy. They can gather much information from this procedure and provide you with peace of mind.

You are suffering from a form of Dyspepsia.
Before you go for endoscopy , i suggest you try this.
Start drinking 8 glasses of pure water per day, no caffeine, no sugary stuff , no alcohol at all but only pure water with somes salt preferably unrefined sea salt. one pinch for each glass of water or ( 3 grams for 10 glasses.)

Drink one or two glasses of water 30-60 min before meals and then 1 to 2 hrs after meal. do not drink during meals.

Find a good probiotic supplement and take it on daily basis , drink some peppermint tea with some fennel seeRAB and ginger in it once or twice a day.
Take control of your stomach issue now otherwise these problems will take control of your forever.
try this and i am sure you will be fine.
