help for html on tumblr?

okay, I'm utterly confused. i've been trying to put a certain image as my background on my tumblr blog, and so far, i've achieved that, but i wanted another header on top of the image background to be black, so that my content can be seen on black background and on the slides is the picture background.

does anyone have a tumblr account and knows how to help me?
