Help! Flash/HTML Website Problem! What do I do? Which is best? Costs?

My company wants to re-vamp our website. I previously posted the question: Was 12,000-15,000 too much for a company to charge us to make our site look like this http://www.anteprima.com/fw07/.

I got a lot of feedback regarding the utilization of a flash site like this as opposed to the pricing which makes me question the flash aspect in general.

Most people e-mailed me saying that flash was no good. BUt most of the cool sites out there are in flash. Is there a combination factor I'm missing? A site that's quick, and accessible for both HTML and FLASH compatible viewers? Is that a possibility? Also, what are the ranges a company would charge for something of this nature?
 
That twirly thing you got going on continues for too long and peeps may get impatient waiting for everything to load especially if their comp aint top notch! But once in it does look ok
