I'm thinking of doing poetry for forensics this upcoming year in speech. Last year i did humour without much luck (The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe) partially due to schedule mishaps with tournaments and the fact that the piece was completly over my head and i didnt realize this untill after the season ended and i saw a recording of the play (oops) so this year i think im going to try my hand at something different,
so does anyone have any suggestions on any good poems? i want something very emotional, along the themes of love (simple enough) and/or death and love lost. long poems or several shorts is cool. the thing is i want something modern, i dont want hard to understand old english or anything, and rap lyrics are cool too!
THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS!
or maybe unrequited love as a theme? i was maaaybe thinking of using The Waitress by Atmosphere as one of maybe 2 or three shorts? let me know what you think.
