I have a 626 Mazda 1992 sedan. Just got it serviced a few days ago. however i just realised that there's this loud tapping sound from the engine when and after start up. i called up the place where i serviced it they told me it was fine. but just to be on the safe side, would there be anything i can do to reduce the noise so it doesn't sound like a tractor on the streets.

It's a 4 cyclinder 2.0L engine. has done over 200,000km. everything is good no oil leaks or anything. but the tapping is annoying...any help would be appreciated thanks..

ooh dont worry is just a bad lifter...

the lifter is oil charged so when the cam hit it the oil inside reduce the noise, in your case the lifter is cloged and the oil cant go in so it dont reduce the sound

change the oil with a high detergent one, and forget about the high millage oil, that thing has low detergent and that will make with the time the oil stick more faster to the engine
