I adopted a hound mix from the shelter two months ago. They didn't know how old he was but said he couldn't be more than two. I don't know anything about his history or why he was in the shelter. The workers told me he was a happy little dog but avoided people whenever they came around. He is ok with other dogs, doesn't really care about cats, but has issues with other people. He gets along with my family but has the tendency to bark excessively, growl, and sometimes snarl/snap at my friends. Every time this has happened it has been at their house or at the dog park. He has also attempted to bite his veterinarian during a routine check up. I've tried taking him to obedience class and completed it. Nothing helped. He barked and snarled at everyone but was calm when he was isolated. Are there any other techniques to help me stop his aggressive behavior? I'm terrified that he'll bite someone, especially a friend, one day.
