it's just me

Hello,
I have a 97 Chrysler Cirrus that I recently bought from an impound lot. While my boyfriend was working on the car the alarm went off from disconnecting the battery. We disconnected the alarm and the next day my car wouldn't start but turns over. We tried reconnecting and we figured out how to turn off the alarm but the car still wont start. I even had a mechanic connect his computer to read the codes an find out what is wrong. He said it was a part called the crankshaft position sensor that stopped the car from getting spark but I bought a brand new one and installed it. Could this be from disconnecting the alarm and reconnecting it? If so, what should I do to remedy the problem?
Any solutions would be most helpful
Thank you.
I also forgot to add that we put a amp in the same day also but tried disconnect that and that didn't work. How would I fix an ignition kill feature????
