I feel like anime and cartoons (as in comic style or tv ones that are way to stylized and I couldn't care less about) are the only styles!!!
So info... I started with anime then after realizing how badly it'd ruined my proportions developed a slight hatred towards it and moved to realism. I love love love realism but sometimes it takes way too long to paint stuff, etc. I want to start doing cartoons again, problem is, everything looks like anime, even when it's not, it looks like it to me. It's strange, and sometimes it won't look like it to me and it will to somebody else! So anywayscomic like, I'd like something in the middle. At barnes and nobles all they have is crap How to Draw Manga books. It's really frustrating.
Here are some artists I like the styles of but can't imitate at all! I don't know why
Some of them are unique while others I'm sure have some sort of name...

This one, except for the eyes, looks very Comic style to me, and I can sort of imitate this, but it doesn't suite me.

These are awesome!!! and I'm pretty sure the style has a name, as I've seen it a few times, but I really can't draw like this at all.

I love these too, similar to the above, but more realistic, with very sharp features, I just can't do this at all either.
What should I do? Does anybody know where I can find similar styles, or what they're called, what artists do them. Are there any good books. I love to have a good book to learn to draw. It really helps.
Yeah I'd try that except there are no good books and I have few references to actually get the above styles I like down.
