I have a 10 gallon tank with 2 blue MM platies, 1 zebra danio, 2 tetras, and 2 cories. A blue male platy recently died from an ick outbreak and a wound on his body, and I was just joking around with my dad that I probably wasn't meant to ever keep more than 2 species of each fish. Now he's like, "You know when I was little and kept fish I NEVER needed to change the water every 2 weeks! My fish didn't get sick and die like yours. Water changes are bad!" How can explain to him that water chagnes are GOOD! People recommend a pwc (partial water change) the first thing when fish are sick.
