essay:
A.P.U.S History because it taught me the history of the United States. As an immigrant from El Salvador, I knew a lot about the history of my country but very little about my new home country. After taking this class I feel more familiar with the U.S. Understanding the history of my new country is important as I work toward becoming a citizen and making decisions by voting. I learned a great deal about myself while enrolled in this class, it taught me how to keep pushing myself when I was ready to give up, because at the beginning I got very low scores on my test and assignments, no matter how hard I studied. I also had to work hard at translation, the chapters we had to read were really long, it was very difficult to understand what I was reading. With the help of a dictionary and online translating websites while I was reading I look for the words I didn’t know the meaning of and It took more time to finish the chapter, but all this work helped me expand my vocabulary. Also I had to learn how to express myself, when it came to asking questions to the teacher or answering questions during the lecture there were times I knew the answer but I just didn’t know how to say some words in English, my quite personality was another difficulty when it came to answering questions but at the end I asked questions with more confidence.
