Question coming off morphine
I have suffered kneecap replacment but had a 2 year wait for an operation.
In that time I have ended up addicted to morphine. I was given time release
capsules but for the last 12 months have been crushing the caps
and eating them for the hit.
At one point I was on 250ml a day. My doctor obviously cottoned on and now
I have gradually come down to 100 a day and am feeling the flushes and tossing and turning once it wears off through the night.
Can anyone tell me how long this will last, as the doses will go
down by 20ml a day per week. And what can I take to help?
I have also posted this on another board but was unsure where I should post.

It sounRAB as if you tapered too fast for your body to get used to the new lower dose. I did the same thing when I was coming off of the Oxy and I had w/d's just about the whole time, but it was worse once I got down to the lower doses and drops. The rule of thurab is to lower your dose about 10-20% a week which usually allows your body time to get used to the new lower dose. Some people need to stay at a level a little longer than other and other people can drop faster. It all depenRAB on the person's body. There is no way to tell how long the w/d's will last while you are tapering. You may want to taper a little slower and talk to your physician about it and let them know that you are experiencing withdrawals and if you should taper slower or not.
