Hey Guys,

I really need some help. I have called alltel and they put in the hex dec esn and gave me a new nuraber for my daughter's cell phone (which was cricket) but the *228 didn't work. And they guy I was talking to did not know how to help me. He tried to have me manually program it on the phone it's self, but that didn't work either. Is there any other option? I know they are both on CDMA and I would think it should work? Thanks!! Paul Watson

We need specifics, like make and model of the phone to even begin to try to help you out. If Alltel accepted the ESN and it's active with Alltel now, it should be doable. Did you flash it to Alltel first (load the prl)? If not try *22801, *22802, all the way through *22807 and you might get Alltel's programming line. That would most likely do it. Although Cricket does Service lock some of their phones. In which case you would have to get the SPC (Alltel won't have it Cricket will, but they will only tell you if you have that phone activated with them).

Another question

1. Is the phone cricket branded, or is it an alltel phone that was flashed to cricket, and now you want to move it back?

If there's an alltel store near you, and it's an alltel phone that was flashed.. just take the phone into the store and they can likely reprovision it for you... If it's a cricket phone... well, then it gets tougher, especially if Alltel doesn't sell the same phone.

Give us the info.

It is rarely ever brought up because hardly anyone would want to buy an inferior Cricket phone for a premium price and change it over to another carrier.
You can definetly use the phone with Alltel unless you have an old single band phone which works only on 1900. The hardest thing is for Alltel to activate an ESN that is not from an Alltel phone but it looks like you already got them to do that.
Alltel uses primarily 850 which most newer Cricket phones support.
You have to have the phone reprogrammed just like you reprogram a Sprint phone over to Cricket.
The OTA codes won't work because like I said Cricket phones are subsidy locked.

What should the nam settings be for it to work on alltel??
