Help! Can't get to "internet" via cell phone on my PDA.

:( I've tried several things that I have seen here and/or on my HP iPaq forum site, but I can't seem to get "connected. I have an HP iPaq 2425, a Noka 6230 - both blue tooth, Cingular service w/ the phone, I connect the two, but when I try to "dial" the gprs service, I keep getting errors. What am I doing wrong?

A clean home is a sign of a broken computer. :laugh:
 
If I'm not mistaken, don't you have to use a data cable between the two to actually have the HP iPaq be able to use the Noka 6230 as a modem?

And Bluetooth between them would be for syncing between the two devices, and or transfering files between the two, but not connecting to the net, with the iPaq using the Nokia as it's dialup modem.
 
than I had before, and I think even though I have GPRS with my Media Basic pkg (I know the phone uses GPRS to send/rec'v multimedia messages) and the "setup" shows it as "always online" (GPRS that is), the last time I tried a connection, the phone gave me a message to '"subscibe to GPRS service first". SO maybe I don't actually have GPRS service. Hmmmm. As usual, it's the weekend I'm playing with this so I can't get a hold of tech support through Cingular... :) but thanks anyway!

more specific to the UK. The US settings must be different. (Cuz they aren't working.) :) If anyone has info specific to the US, that would be great!

Here ya go, but not specific to the devices you are using, but a good step by step using Bluetooth phone as a modem for a laptop (so the device may not be the same the way to ge to what you want my help).

the Other one with the UK settings was just for being able to see which settings you might have to look into to get where you needed to get (as far and the two devices).

Wooo hoo! The second link you posted (golod.com) is what did it! The trick was in the advanced connection settings that has a string set for isp by default, yet wap is the connection it's trying to use. (8/18/05 8:54pm post John Wades, and then 8/31/05 3:42pm post razr user had the "tip") Connected and ready to go! Now.. to make sure I don't procrastinate on getting an unlimited data plan... :o
