okay, my parrotlet LOVES millet, to an addiction, its th eonly thing he eats, im scared that when i take it away, he'll starve, but I know millet isnt a very balanced diet for a bird. what should I do?
Dry taking away the millet in slow increments, or just sprinkling it in his food dish. I have a parrotlet and when i first got him he only ate millet too. Don't worry, if he's hungry, he'll eat the seeds. you could also pretend to fake eat his seeds and act really happy and satisfied as if it were really good, so he associates it with something positive. i found this helped a lot.
