help apprenticeship advice?

my partner is 23 years old he became redundant a few months back, he has a nvq level 2 in motor mechanics and is looking to get back into that career line he was looking at an apprenticeships but none of us have a clue how much it will cost or what we need to do to even start setting the wheels in motion. any advice would be fantastic
