Okay, so I got a speeding ticket awhile ago and planned to go to the courthouse to get it deferred and reduced/ not go on my record. Problem was, they were closed. And I came on the last day I had before I went out of town..so my “15 days” I had on my ticket were up. I had no other choice but to check the ‘I want a hearing, I have committed this infraction but I want to explain” box and sent it in…it was either that, or get my license suspended for failure to respond in time.
POINT- they are going to send me a courtdate in the mail and im going to go…but, my parents do not know. They are going through a lot of financial things right now and are so stressed and I know they will be angry. I am seventeen. I heard once you show up at court..they give you an option to get your ticket deferred or to proceed with the hearing..is this correct? Are my parents going to find out?
If I can get the ticket deferred there at the courthouse it would be ideal but idk if this actually happens.
