hi I'm hoping someone can help me i have an 8 year old boy who this year has been diagnosed with ADHD. his been on Ritalin and lately Ive been finding his behavior is worsening they medication has been great though but where starting to feel like where at stage 1 again Ryan is a funny little man he gets very frustrated with his socks and gets angry and frustrated when the seem doesn't sit right in his shoes and wont move unless its right, his got hardly any friends at school because his extremely immature and does silly things, i got a call today from the school saying he was kicking a little boy and asking girls if they want to see his private parts, in the mornings my daughter who is 10 cant stand to sit at the table with him as he constantly makes noises and pulls faces and wont sit still and just eat his brekkie, he has recently been calling my daughters friends fat and ugly and has been told that it hurts there feelings and i spend the time to explain his actions but its like it going in one ear and out the other, if i left him to sit on the playstation 3 all day i would have the quietest child on earth but its not the solution someone said he might have autism or asperger i feel like i have no control over him his little brain goes over time and it hurts me terribly as he gets so upset when he has to go to the principals office he gets excited and just doesn't think before he does things its all impulsive can anyone tell me if its ADHD or something else

Lateisha,
Your son could be ADHD or have Aspergers autism, emotional disorder or a myriad of other learning and behavioral difficulties. The only way to know for sure is to have him evaluated by a professional. I don't agree with just medicating a child. I don't know how things are done in Canada, but in the States the child would be evaluated by a school psychologist to determine what disability he qualifies for and what are the strategies to help him. You might start by speaking with your son's school administrator and request help in getting him evaluated. I wish you well.
