Hello all, I was wondering if anybody knows much about suboxone detox and wd symptoms? I have only been on sub for about 2 months and will be letting it go very soon does anyone know what I should expect? I have cold turkeyed from herion and oxy before, is it as bad? heres the skinny, I started my sub at 12 mg and have tapered to about 2. should I try to go lower before I quit or is 2 as low as I should go? also what kind of wd symptoms should I expect with such short term usage? ie; how long should I plan on taking off work? what kinRAB of herbs or otc meRAB will help me through? I want as much info and personal experiances as I can get before I do this thing. waiting to hear back, thank you all who take the time to care!!!:)

talk to your md an dont forget where you came from, most who take this tool corabined with proper councleing, take it for 6 months to a year for maximum help in changeing how the mind thinks, you could ask a fellow meraber of your self help group or you councler, if you dont have outside help this could just be a substatute :)

Hi..... I was on Suboxone for just 4 days in a rehab I went to a couple of weeks ago. Then after 4 days being off of it I started having mild withdrawals. I don't know how the withdrawals will effect you being on it for 2 months. Good luck darlin you can do it !!!!! Hugs.....

thank you 56789, I am just worried I am going to have horrible wRAB and I sure in the hell don't want to put myself at risk for relapse. if there is anyone else out there that has more info on what to expect consider me a sponge, i'll take any info or experiances. thank you all

i have a friend that takes it, your md is suposed toknow the proper taper plan, an i hear slow is good , the slower you taper down the less the wd ,wich will vary from person to person, try other sites about suboxone there are some sites that talk about sub only:)

I have a wondersful taper schedule that my addictionologist gave to me. I have read for over two years a reasonable way and this one has been the best---I was on 16 mgs for over 3 yrs and this is what is working for me....

Week1-2-- 16 mgs

Weeks3-4--14mgs

Weeks5-6--12 mgs

Weeks7-8--10mgs

Weeks9-10--8mgs

Weeks11-12--6mgs

Weeks13-14--4mgs

This is where his plan differs from any that I have heard about...
Instead of going from 4mgs to 2mgs as some people suggests... He informs me to trick my receptors... while the end is written in two week increments... it can be altered to one wk increments if time or $ is a factor...

week 15 (4,4,3,4,4,3 pattern)
day 1- 4mgs
day 2- 4mgs
day 3- 3mgs
day 4- 4mgs
day 5- 4mgs
day 6- 3mgs
day 7- 4mgs

week 16 (4,3,3,4,3,3 pattern)
day1- 4mgs
day2- 3mgs
day3- 3mgs
day4- 4mgs
day5- 3mgs
day6- 3mgs
day7- 4mgs

week 17-18- 3mgs

weeks18-19 (3,3,2,3,3,2,3)

weeks 20-21 (3,2,2,3,2,2,3)

weeks22-23---2mgs

weeks 24-25--2,2,1,2,2,1,2

weeks 26-27--2,1,1,2,1,1,2

weeks28-29- 1mg

weeks30-31--1,1,0.5,1,1,0.5,1 (.5 is a quarter of a 2mg)

weeks 31-32--1,.5,.5,1,.5,.5,1

weeks33-34--.5

weeks 35-36--.5 every other day

weeks 37-38--.5 every 3rd day

I know this is a long post-- getting off suboxone is difficult, can but can be alot easier if this above is followed--- this taper schedule is just a suggestion and can be altered. I hope I made the patterns obvious as they can been done on a slower schedule(monthly) or quicker schedule ( weekly).... Good luck to all and may I highly recommend NA/AA/ or other 12 step meetings!

Hello and welcome!

I have never been on sub but I think the previous poster gave you a lot of GREAT information.

I just wanted to let you know that you will find a lot of support here from our board and feel free to post often! Sometimes at least for me... the more I write the better I feel. Withdrawal is no fun but you can get thru it if all the correct tools are in place. It sounRAB as if you are preparing and that alone will help you become successful.

Congrats to you for fighting this battle and winning. You should be very proud for how far you have come and kicking those pills. I know how hard it can be so good for you.

Please keep us posted and we look forward to getting to know you better!

YOU CAN DO IT!!! Take a long look in the mirror and look really hard and you will see how worth this you really are!

Blessings to you!
