Help! 2002 Chevy Cavalier Won't Start?

I've had absolutely no problems up until tonight - drove my car home from work, parked, and everything was fine. My roommate went out to move my car so she could leave (I was parked behind her) and came in to tell me the car wouldn't start. The battery is less than 1 year old. Ended up connecting it to her car via jumper cables; it still wont turn on. However, the cables did allow the headlights and radio to work. It makes a clicking noise. My other roommate suggests it is either 1.) battery dead (after less than a year?) 2. alternator needs to be replaced (wouldn't it still turn on with the cables?) or 3. the starter (in that case, would the headlights/radio be effected?)

I checked the fuse for the ignition and battery, they are fine. I'm going to bring the battery in to an Autozone or something tomorrow to see if it's dead; if not, suggestions? If so, that seems like an awfully short time for a battery to last. The headlights/radio were not left on on the vehicle, and it was only parked for about 20 minutes from the time I got home to when my roommate went to move it.
