Hello, I have total male drama queen cat.?

I have a male cat who's 5 years old. Whenever I try to flea spray him or try to give him a pill, he starts to drool like he's having a seizure (total drama queen). Is there something that I can do to help lessen his stress when I try to give him a pill or spray him?
