isn't so great but I just got a? great new job and Im willing to put down a sizable down payment. Ive been to a few dealerships but they cant seem to get over my credit. Does anyone know a good dealership I can go to that is lenient on credit? I have to have this car now and I live in VA.

Dealers are not the ones denying you credit. Banks are. We work with several of them to get customers financed. Dealers are intermediaries between customers and lenders. If a few dealers have looked at your credit and said "Thanks but no thanks" then you likely have pretty bad credit. You need to concentrate on fixing your credit scenario before you jump in the deep waters of a $30K+ debt.

And yeah, I am going to get preachy too. Your credit is bad, but you have the impulse control of a 5 yr old. The constant drive for instant gratification is what got this country into the financial mess we are in today. Delayed gratification, saving money, being responsible - those are the principles our grandparents tried to teach us. Stop trying to get the latest shiny toy that grabs your eye. Pay off all your debts, save some money, clean up your credit. In a year or two THEN you can buy the car after you have taken care of your existing issues.
