Helix Player for N73

While I was looking for some information on encoding video for the N73, I followed a series of links that ultimately took me here: https://symbian.helixcommunity.org/symbian_helix_v3.html I was wondering if anyone on the boards is familiar with this. It appears to be a version of the Real Helix player in development for s60v3 devices. Looks like it will handle a bunch more video and audio codecs than the current real player implementation. I'm not that familiar with Atlas, does anyone know what benefits it provides?

It's not available in binary form. If you have the s60 toolchain you can build it yourself. I have the toolchain setup, I just can't sign it

If you read the mailing list, the developers are still working on it, it still has important bugs. It is supposed to be published anytime soon, so maybe this month we will have coreplayer and helix...mmm.

kaplanfx: if you can compile something... why dont you try with reindeer???

I really would like to try it!!!

I don't think reindeer uses the new v3 API's (and it's likely not designed for the enhanced security model either). Also even if I were able to compile it, you'd need a developer certificate to sign it and run it on your phone.
