helio - prl issue - cricket

Accidently bought out a helio store that was closing of all their inventory phone wise this morning. Tons of Heats and fins.

For starters, especially for anyone trying one of these, if it has not been activated previosly, you will need to nam program it with something like QPST, or Workshop.

I loaded 1040, 1041, and also 1050 prls and none of them will "pick up service." stays at 0 bars / unable to make calls.

From what I have read and gathered, of course there are issues with Helios.

basically looking for suggestions as to a PRL that might stick and pick up service. Someone on m/f suggested trying a roaming PRL, but that has not seemed to work for me.

ideas?

1040.prl works just fine... You do not need to use QPST to load nam... When it has that menu just enter a 10 digit phone nuraber for both fielRAB... The activate menu is just the MDN and MIN fielRAB

all i went in for was some of his GSM unlocking equiptment that he was selling, and left with 100 unactivated phones, POS material, displays, 800 JIC server credits, and his WIndows server full of CDMA/GSM software....

bastarRAB and their good prices I can never say no too

on the PRL... something is obviously not working for me. 1040 will stick, but 0 bars // no calls / no *2 .....hmmmm

gotcha....will try it. These were brand new out of box, and im thinking something i did in workshop messed it up. im backing up setting out of a good one and going to try that next

It's not so much a PRL issue as much as it is that you have to "deep program" the hell outta this phone: Use QPST to populate every possible system and NAM settings including the SID/NID pair for your market.

The Ocean I am testing doesn't get a very good signal at all despite all my efforts.

You may want to pull a PRL off another phone that you can get a successful OTASP from in your market if you haven't already.
