At first, I thought they would be a pain in the ass and they sat in the box for a couple of months. When I finally decided to install, I realized that it was not very difficult at all. Basically, just unbolt all the hardware on the handlebars and move them out of the way. Then loosen up the pinch bolts and slide off the triple. Slide all the controls off the stock bars and insert the Heli Bars. Put the triple back on and tighen the bolts up a bit. Do not tighten them all the way because you will have to adjust them to ensure you have clearance. Check full left and right turn to ensure they won't hit the tank or fairing at full cock. Make sure that when you re-install all the hardware that you line up the little nipples to rest inside the small pen hole on the bars or else they won't tighten down correctly.
The kit comes with some decent instructions as well.
Yes, you can use the stock grips. No problems with the fairings or cables either.
When you get it, just go for it, as it is not as bad as you think.
