Heli-Coil for a spark plug hole on a 125cc four stroke dirt bike?

Hey There.

Hi, I picked up a 2003 Yamaha TTR-125 free of charge on because some idiot put the spark plug in with an impact wrench and stripped out the spark plug hole. I recently heli-coiled the spark plug hole and put in the new spark plug and so far everything works great. My question is, is the heli coil meant to last or eventually will I have to get a new head? And if I sell the bike do you think I should mention anything about the past of the head? Thanks

There is a thing called a time sert that is more permanent than a heli-coil. you might try that later. The helicoil needs to be rated for high engine heat.

I wouldn't say anything if I sold it.

Check this link for demonstration.

its a temp fix that last for a long time but you can keep redoing it till you have to rebuild the motor then get a new head its up to you.
