Heavy Cricket discount in Portland, OR

A rep at the Cricket store just told me they're giving a free month of service to anyone who pays for three months at a time. What that means is, you pay for three months at a time, and get one free. That's a 25% discount if you are able to pay for three months of service at a time!

I know that in the Nashville market they got a special right now, $15 gets your activated and your first month is free. I'm loving it :D They messed up on one of those Add A Line text messages.

I'm not sure if it goes for any other market but if you're in the Nashville area now is a great time to get a phone hooked up

Cricket always does first month free with a new activation.

Regarding Portland. Is that an independent retailer, or a corporate-owned Cricket outlet?

Yes but that's with the purchase of a new phone... You can bring in any phone and get it activated for $15. You don't have to buy a new one, have one flashed bring it in and it costs $15. Have an old one lying around, bring it in it costs $15.

That's opposed to the $70 they usually charge when you activate a used phone. (first month + activation)

Also, that's not a bad deal at all, I'd love to be able to get a month free. I always prepay my phone bill 2 months ahead of time anyways. I wonder if it's in any other markets.

:^/ While I always pay mine mere minutes ahead of time....

;^) Seriously, does this offer extend only to new accounts/phones, or can one prepay the next three months on an existing account and get the fourth free? That'd be cool....

:^( ...If my Tr

I was told this discount applies only in the Portland, OR market, since apparently sales in this market are handled by a different company, or something like that.

The guy telling me this was a LEAP employee working at a Cricket corporate-owned store.

He said that this was applicable anytime and to any account without any limitations. You just need to pay the exact amount for three months, then either go to the store or call Customer Care, and they'll enter in a code that'll give you the fourth month free. After the 4 months, you can do this again. Also, he said you could pay for 6 months of service at a time if you so wanted, and you'd get service for 8 months with this.

I haven't tried it out yet since my bill is already paid for this month (I pay it well ahead of time so their ****ed up billing system doesn't disconnect me).

I'll let you guys know whether or not it works once I try it out.
