Heater isn't turning on? Acura Integra.?

Everytime I try to turn the heater on, it turns the radio off and still doesn't turn on. It barely ever works and when it does it's not really cold enough to need it, why does it do this? My battery light isn't on so it's not bad, my gauges are still lit up along with my headlights?
 
Maybe its just the way your car is drawing power from the battery? Is it an after market stereo? I've heard for newer Hondas (Acuras are Honda) they need a special electrical harness to be put in prior to putting one in. But if thats not that case, and im sure it isnt, it could be your car's alternator isnt working too well
 
looks like you got your wires crossed somewhere.....have a mechanic check it out.....someone who won't rip you off !
 
my guess is your not gonna get much help here, so just take it into a shop and get it looked at.
 
check ur heater core, all fuses, check the switch that turn ur heat on and check the switch that changes the air to windshield, feet, top, it could be stuck or broken. also check thermostat.
 
Short circuit. It's gonna take forever to hunt it down. Try removing the radio and running the blower then.
