Does anyone notice that really bad heat triggers their anxiety?

I have noticed for the past few weeks, I get these dizzy vertigo panic feelings when I am experiencing really hot temperatures.

This last weekend I was at my frienRAB house and she didn't have the AC on, and it was probably around 100 degrees outside. And I started getting very panicky and fearing of passing out. Then today inside a store, I got very hot for one moment then started getting the vertigo panicky feeling again and had to go to the car and turn the AC on.

I just started prozac again three weeks ago, I am wondering if that is what is making me so heat intolerant? Or is it just plain anxiety? I've heard SSRI's can create this intolerance.

I have normal blood pressure and keep myself hydrated and nourished. So Im pretty confident its not another health problem.

I have the same thing happen to me alot. I think once I get very hot - I start thinking something is wrong with me. My anxiety has a way of making everything more difficult to handle. Hang in there.

YES, i think that is what happens. I think when I get too hot I will pass out... then the dizziness and vertigo feelings come. Total panic.

I can usually calm myself down once im in a cool air conditioned spot.

Hi..Yes..i stay hot all the time and when i get hot i get panicky thinking i may pass out...I have a big fear feeling dizzy and of passing out....I try and get to the ac asap.......I think my celexa causes me to sweat so bad...I can go in somewhere and it will be as cool as can be and i start sweating.......Its awful

Glad to hear because I have the exact same thing. Especially when in a hot shower. I have found putting myself in front of an air conditioner does help relax me. I have always thought that heat had something to do with it.

Is Celexa an SSRI??? I am beginning to think its medication related. I remeraber this happening the same time a few years ago. But it happened to also be when I started Prozac. I don't remeraber it being an ongoing thing... just within the first few months.

I hope it goes away for both of us!!!

Yes, I have to have the AC! It sucks though, im so afraid of going outside right now because I feel like I will get that hot dizzy panic!

Hi..yes celexa is a ssri and i sat outside today at a restarant for lunch and just about got panicky and was gonna have to go inside untill a breeze started to blow and then i was ok.....i think it the ssri causing it......

thinking of ya

Well, I hope it goes a way for all of us! I also think the SSRI is causing some sort of heat intolerance. I hope it doesn't last!

The summer's have been really bad up here... its been around 105 on most days! Which makes me really panicky!!! I've been hanging inside most of the time!

I agree with the SSRIs being a big player in this. I take 80mg of Prozac every day and can not do much and sweat like crazy.
