The heat was working in my truck last week, now it's not all of the sudden. I can hear the compressor coming on and cold air is blowing through the vents. Can someone tell me what is going on? Why am I not getting heat and why is the AC compressor still coming on?
There is no switch/button on the 97 for the AC, just a temp control dial. When I turn the dial to it's warmest, the AC still remains on and blows very cold air and it shoudn't.

The a/c relay could be stuck in the on position. A quick fix to save wasting gas is to unplug the compressor. Doesn't the Explorer require you to press the button in to make the a/c come on, a little orange light comes on ( going from memory of a 95 )
