Heart Palpitation / Skipped Beats?

Hi Everyone,

23/m. Good health. I have a few questions regarding heart palpitations or the sensation of skipped heart beats. I believe a doctor back when regular physical check ups were mandatory (through high school and such) let my mom know that my sister and I had heart murmurs. Didn't make much of it and neither did my mom who was a nurse and is still a surgical tech. I remember even as a younger kid having the extremely rare and occasional single heart palpitation or skipped beat sensation. It would always make me cough for whatever reason. I guess it was nothing specific and just a natural reaction. Anyway, I've been out of high school for a few years now. I'm aspiring in a creative field and don't go to school nor do I currently have a job. I was working as a front desk receptionist for a couple years. I haven't had a job now in a while. I mostly stay at home. I have cut off communications with most people that I know. I have very high standards for who I associate with and I'm sure that has a lot to do with my social situation. I haven't gone out socially regularly for at least 7 or 8 months. I experience stress, anxiety, even panic. These occurrences are somewhat regular. I masturbate up to 7 or so times a week and I think that may even play a contributing role here. I play basketball outdoors in the summer but on a non-competitive level. Other than that, I don't really make it an effort to specifically exercise. I'm in good shape. I'm 6'2 and about 150 lbs which is borderline (apparently) but seems to be within a normal weight for a guy my height. My sleeping pattern is not something I'm proud of. I have a hard time letting myself sleep at night. I just stay up and work on the computer usually. Eating habits are like most other people's which is not great either.

Just about 3 or 4 months ago I was at a friend's house. It was just starting to get cool out with the weather. He doesn't live in a bad neighborhood but it's not great either. I was leaving his house pretty late, probably around 1 or 2 in the morning. Anyway, I closed his front door and started sprinting to my car for whatever reason. I got to it, went in and turned it on and started to feel palpitations like I haven't felt before. This was a sequence or series of them. Firstly, my heart was beating fast because of the random sprint (as would be naturally) and then these palpitations accompanied that so it made them seem harder or heaver or something than the ones I'd experienced prior to that time. Now tonight I went out for the first time in a while with another friend of mine. I was picked up at home and the friend drove to a club. We stopped at a convenience store so we could pick up a sandwich for him. Walking out of the car and towards the store I experienced something similar. Series or sequence of palpitations. These were obviously much milder seeming than the time described just before this. I had not been running, just walking out the car.

I read somewhere the symptoms of a condition I believe called MVP. Symptoms and causes of this are some that I feel I might have. My palpitations aren't really accompanied by any pain or anything. They just sort of happen. Nonetheless it's very uncomfortable to think about and I'm just wondering what can be done to prevent this.

Thank you in advance for any help and advice.
Couple things:
I don't drink, don't smoke
I have a beer once in a blue moon
I don't sleep correctly at night and get to sleep late and usually get only about 5 solid hours of sleep, if that.
