So I am starting a candy business and all the podiction is done at home and I am just wondering if a health inspector will do an inspection of my home. I am also wondering to find one to do an inspection and what to expect when he comes. Thank you!
Sorry that was supposed to say all the production is done in my home. Haha sorry I'm typing on my I phone so it messes up sometimes!

I was in a similar situation many years ago in Ireland, and I had to arrange for the health inspector to call. I was given a date and a time, and he simply checked my kitchen working area, including lifting up the basin to see the sink below was spotless. I was advised to make minor changes in the general area. The next year he arrived unannounced, but by then the business had failed, so my permit was withdrawn without further inspection. Since then, Irish legislation requires a specific place purposely for such production only, and a domestic kitchen is not acceptable.

Recently I was visiting a day care centre when their health inspection was in progress. This time, they inspected everything - kitchens - cooking areas, storage, waste facilities, and dining area, and all other areas where day care clients would be, even toilet facilities where taps were turned on to ensure there was hot water for hand-washing.

Good luck with your business.
