Headset Trouble? Help Please?

I recently got a new headset for my computer. (used for online games)
i can use the mic part of the headset, but i cant hear any sound out of theadset.
The sound comes out of the speakers......but i want ti to come out of my headset instead.
Ive tried everything, (well not really) but i need some help as to finding out how i can get sound out of the headset.

If it is a usb headset you will probably have to open your computers sound settings and manually set the headset as the output device.
