Headset problem PS3?????????

I charged it took the charger out press the on button for 3 seconds, flashed is it working or do I need to connect it with the ps3?

what do I need to do to make it work or did it work the first time?
its new.

you need to set the headset into discovery mode that's when you press the power button for at least 4 sec and the lights start flickering on the mic piece from red glow to flash of green then set discovery on ps3 and you should be good to go don't forget the code 0000

go into the XMB under accessories settings and add it there. Default code will be 0000
