I have severely damaged hearing in one ear about 15% of normal but the other ear is in perfect shape. It causes no real problems in my day to day life until I'm confronted with the horror of stereo. Now stereo doesn't bug me through a speaker system naturally the good ear picks up what the bad ear doesn't but when I listen to a stereo mix through headphones it can be a disaster especially a heavy left-right mix like the Beatles or other music mixed in that era. Other issues arise in Video games where I simply can't hear dialogue or action from characters and events on my deaf side. What I need is something between the socket on my devices and the jack for my headphones that merges the stereo mix into mono. Ideally it would be something portable. Does such a thing exist?
