I'm about to buy a 4runner with 147k and the head gasket never had to be replaced. Could I have found a gem or will it be destine to blow?

thank you for your help!!

Your head gaskets don't blow out just like that. they usually go bad when you overheat your car or you run your car with just water and no antifreeze water makes your heads rust.

Head gaskets don't usually cause any problem. Maybe one time in a hundred, maybe less.

I forget - did the 95 come stock with the 22R as its base engine? Is that what's in there?

Whatever - I haven't heard of any head gasket issues on 4-bangers in the mid-90s 4Runners. V6, not so sure. But my 1987 with the 22R is going strong on its original head gasket, and I'm pushing 200K miles on it.
