I have a 1995 Chevy S-10 pick-up, 4 cyl, 2.2 that has blown head gasket. That is it overheated one time too many & now is not drivable as the oil is milky indicating water in the engine. I have drained all the oil out of but not driving as I did try unsuccessfully to start it 1/2 dozen few times but did not want to harm the engine further as it acted like it was flooded every time .
Two questions : 1.) Since the water has entered the engine is there a probability that the engine is ruined in any way ? & 2.) Is this vehicle worth trying to fix with 140,000 miles but other wise good condition on it family owned. I may try to do the repair myself to save $ because it also needs a clutch. However as old as it is with high mileage perhaps it is not worth fixing. or maqybe just buy a whole engine replacement. thanks in advance
