HD2 or Iphone4

Hello, i really want a new phone!

My current phone: lg Cookie, well i'm tired of it. I gave it a few new interfaces and tweaked it etc, But its not a good phone for me.
Now my friend has the HD2, i really like it especially the screen. And also the coming iphone4 i really like.

My phone subscription (is that the right english word?) lasts 8more months its from Hi, a Dutch phone-company, in the last 4 months i can get a new phone, but that takes to long.
So should i buy an HD2 for 450euro simlock-free and get an extra unlimited internet with it.(10euro/month) Or should i get the new Iphone4+subscription which I don't know the price of yet, but if it's the same as the 3GS now it would cost me 20euro a month(that is+internet) +350euro for the phone, and i still have my old subscription.

My friend know all about the HD2 he has about a 100games + many more apps he knows al about different interfaces and other tweaks, and i have a 16gb micro sd card.
But ofcourse the Iphone4 has many more apps to offer, and some nice new features and it has 32Gb of space, but a smaller, but higher resolution screen.
I personally think that the HD2 screen would fit me better as i'm not looking at the screen so close that I can see the pixels, so i dont see a big advantage in the iphone4 screen, and the HD2 screen is so big and I think its better for the internet or watching movies.

What do you recommend me?

The HD2 runs Windows Mobile 6.5, which is no longer being developed. The iPhone 4 will continue to be supported for at least another few years, probably 3 or 4. I'd go with the iPhone.

Yes i understand that but isn't WM7 coming soon? I thought it will be available for HD2 as well, right?
And still there are some private developers (XDA-developers) with new ROM's etc.
What could you say about them, as im not gonna use the phone for more than 2 years.

Win7 will not come officially to the HD2. You'll probably see XDA port it over, but it'll never run as well as on Win7 hardware.

You can do a lot with the ROM's with WinMo phones, if you're into that kind of thing. It's a larger screen, but WinMo will never run as stable as iOS, and the higher res makes a big difference reading text or watching media. I'd personally rather have a smaller, sharper screen than a larger blurry one. You'd be shocked as to how much crisper the iPhone 4 will appear next to other handsets.

True, but a comment on the bold. The higher-res smaller screen is actually a negative for media playback. The HD2's screen is far closer to the 16:9 aspect ratio which means more of the screen gets utilized during widescreen video playback. Moreover size actually does matter especially for media playback over resolution (to an extent). Movies on the HD2 will be much "bigger" than on the iPhone 4, and the resolution of fine details won't make up for the difference.

Of course this argument doesn't necessarily hold true for iTunes store content like originally-SD purchases.

The resolution of the iPhone 4 is unsurpassed but the screen size is almost 1" smaller than that of the HD2, which is not really reconcilable to some potential buyers.

The size of the HD2 makes it really uncomfortable to hold up for voice calls or to put in a pocket as well. It's getting close to tablet size (Dell Streak anyone?), and just not convenient to carry around. The larger size and more natural ratio are all good points, but for the kind of media I would be watching on my phone it just wouldn't make a difference to me.
