HD problem on 9200 receiver (* button)

Has anyone had this problem? Starting a couple of days ago all HD programs (live or recorded) have been stretched wide, while SD is fine. The guide is also displayed correct width and height for 16:9. Thought something was changed in my settings, but no, tried all configurations on receiver and tv to be sure. 16:9 programing appears to have both left and right sides removed to 4:3 aspect and then stretched out to 16:9. If you were to watch for instance TLCHD channel 826 you would see people stretched wide and in the bottom right corner instead of TLC logo you would only see T. If receiver is put into 480p for testing, the programing is proportioned correctly with black sidebars taking the place of the program sides. Thought it was the way that Bell was delivering it but the same results with recorded HD from months ago make me think that it is the receiver. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
At the bottom left hand corner of the remote, there is a * button. You will also notice that the button is also a format button. Press the button once and see what happens on the screen. Every time that you press this button, it will go to a different format. On HD, you will want NORMAL, and on SD, you will probably want stretch (your preference). Once you set this up, your receiver will remember the setting for HD and SD. That is, unless you press the button by accident, which it sounds like you did.:o
 
Thank you so much! I can't believe that I have not stumbled across that button in the 2 years I have had the 9200. Much, much better advice than Bell gave me.
