i've spent the past few days just trying to play back HD flv video files, I have tried many players and none have been any good. the results are jerky, smearing, jumps about and mostly out of sync with audio. the players i've tried are: km player (rubbish) vlc (jerky) gom player (out of sync) freefile opener (plays it in slomo with audio totally out of sync) real player(jumps) wm classic with plugins, wm player (doesnt know what it is), applian flv player, and lots of other dedicated flv players..in the end i have to convert to mp4 format and that takes 9 hours to convert -the result it ok but all that hassle? and even some converters even given higher bitrates the quality is tiley and unwatchable..so anyone out there with an answer let me know all i'm trying to do is playback HD flv video which is 720p format...
i am trying to play this stuff on a 4gb lenovo laptop..ive been able to playback HD mp4 video files in 720p and even HD1080p using wm player thats as long as the file is mp4.or even mkv haali plugin.its hassle of converting that bugs me..9 hours to convert using miro converter
btw i installed the current k-lite codec pack..it uninstalled the haali mkv codec then argues with the registry about mkv files then replaced a few things..the result now is that HD flv video files play ok in parts but then audio skips and video goes into slomo in places and at times really out of sync..it still looks like converting to mp4 is the only option-and setting high bitrate to get quality this resulting in much bigger file than original eg 30 mins=500mb flv file so one hour will be about 1gb and if you convert that lot into mp4 the result file could be 1.5gb-2gb all that to watch a tv program ! !btw i installed another dedicated flv player that is meant to play HD flv -the aspect ratio was wrong and it played very slowly and jerky..i dont get it..whats the deal on HD flv when i can play 720p mp4 and even 1080P mp4 files using wm player and they play really well,,,any ideas?
i've not given details of gfx card and cpu cos i dont know bu im pretty sure its an ati cos it uses catalyst....as i say its a Lenovo G575 with 4gb of ram..no doubt its on the net i got it in pc world..anyway converting is one thing but having to do it just to watch a video thats in a file format of which we are told that even websites eg youtube are able to live stream even HD in this flv format,,and i cant even get downloaded hd flv to playback in sync..
heres a good idea..dont listen to so called 'experts' now i have to uninstall that piece of crap called klite codecs as its made a mess!!! the mkv vids were a mess and out of synch i had to disable the ffshow codec as it was messy..oh that advice about the video converter yeah what a piece of garbage that was - it took two hours and the audio is slowed down and therefore way out of sync..
