HD Essentials vs HD Extra

Can somebody please explain to me the difference. Bell has to have the worst website known to man.

Are the following channels included in the essentials pack or are these an additional cost?

HDNet (included in all HD Theme Packs)
HD Sports
TSN HD*
Raptors NBA TV HD*
WGN HD

More HD Sports
Rogers Sportsnet HD*
Rush HD

HD Variety
A&E HD
Discovery HD
More HD Variety
National Geographic HD
ShowcaseHD
HD World
Treasure HD
Equator HD
Oasis HD
 
With both HD Essentials and HD Extra you get your choice of 4 HD Theme Packs. Since there are only 5 HD Theme packs you would get those 3 you mentioned, BUT only if you tell them you want them. HDNet is included with any of them so I believe it does not count as a theme.

The difference between Essentials and Extra is Extra includes an additional "regular" theme and some Movie channels.

Of course you get the HD channels associated with any channel you subscribe to, if its available. ie. CTVHD is included because CTV is included with all their packages....or if you chose Extra that includes Movie Central and you would then get Movie Central HD, etc.

Hope this helps...their website is very poor and very slow.
 
To get a particular HD theme, you must also subscribe to the corresponding SD theme. For example to get the HD Sports1 (with TSNHD) you must also subscribe to the SD Sports theme that has TSN in it. To get the HD theme that contains the Discovery HD channel, you must also subscribe the SD theme that contains the Discovery Channel. And to add further complexity, depending on how may HD Themes you order the cost will be different... 5 HD themes = $15, 4 themes = $10, 3 themes = $15 (yes this is not a typo, 3 themes cost more than 4), 2 themes = $10, 1 theme = $5. (Keeping in mind the corresponding SD themes all the while!) I wish you luck... you will need it.
 
guys i have a question for you. i got the HD pack last october i got all the hd channels except for when A&EHD started it never got added to my sub. I though I would get a free preview of it but no. anyone know if i can get this added at no charge?
 
Sports 1 SD takes care of both HD Sports and More HD Sports (TSN HD and RSN HD). Sports 2 SD takes care of Raps HD if you want it. No other requirement for any HD packs.

HD World, HD Variety, and HD More Variety require no SD pre-requesites.

The difference between 2 SD packs is Extra includes another SD theme and Premium Movies (either TMN or Movie Central).
