The manual says to assemble the extension rods along with the wrench on the end for turning. I am just using the two extensions and not the hooked piece that is used for the jack (also the hook won't fit through the alignment holes). I feed it through the hole in the bumper that is on the upper left of the plate. It then goes through a rubber guide and then onto where I can't see. It seems to stop just after the knuckle of the two extension passes through the hole in the bumper. It doesn't feel like it is connecting (like a screwdriver into a screw) but I am moving it around and then turning it forever and nothing is happening. I've switched the extension ends just to see if one is less worn than the other but no better luck. Am I getting it all the way in? Or is it possible the thing I am supposed to connect to is worn.

I'm just happy I am doing this in my driveway instead of the side of the road.

whats wrong, don't have a flashlight to look in the hole to see where the piece is that the rod goes onto, it should be a straight shot, meaning just put the rods in straight and you'll be on the piece, just need to turn it enough to fit over the piece, like a socket on a bolt, one end of the rods will be a little bigger so your probably using the wrong end (because when you put the 2 rods together the small end goes in the bigger end of the other rod so one end has to be smaller than the other), the mechanism could also be bad to where you have the rod on the piece it needs to be on its just not lowering the tire when turning the rod
