Having trouble starting Honda 300ex?

When you try and start it, it sounds like it's trying but won't start up. Has new battery and spark plugs. Hasn't been ridden much in the past year. Any ideas?
 
Needs the carb cleaned - especially the pilot jet.
It's opening is as thin as a pin and is easily clogged with bad gas.

the case oil seal is bad, crankcase oil has the stator soaked, pull the cover and spray down the stator with carb cleaner, and let it dry out then it will start

very common problem on Honda ATV's

yes, I am an expert and have seen this same problem on 300 and 400 EX's
