My husband bought a DVD/VCR combo and we are trying to hook it up via a RF Modulator. We have a Dish Network box that we normally go through to view tv.
We are able to view tapes when we play them but we are not able to record. Or should I say it looks like it is recording but when we hit play nothing happens???
Please help I dont know what I am doing wrong,
Thank you for the information. What do I do if my DVD/VCR does not take Coaxial cable just the composite type?
Do they sell converter to put on the end of the coaxial?
My cable from the Dish box is coaxial and the DVD only takes composite??

You need a set of cables to go from the satellite box straight to the player. This is not the RF cable that goes from the receiver to he RF modulator and then to the TV, that is only the output of the receiver and player.

There are several possible outputs from the receiver and inputs to the player. You should chose the highest in the list below that is available on both:
Video:
1. HDMI - This delivers hi def video and digital audio
2. Component video - This uses three cables for the video information. This does not feed the audio
3. S-Video - This is a small round connector with 4 small pins. This is also video only.
4. Composite video - This is a round RCA jack normally yellow on the inside and often next to a red and white audio connection.
5. RF - The same cable that currently runs to your TV. This carries the
video and audio.
Audio:
1. HDMI - Same as above
2. Digital audio - An optical (fiber) cable
3. Left/Right (Stereo) audio - Normally a red and a white connector
4. RF - Same as above
